10 Scrubbin' Clean Hacks For Your Bathroom

There’s so much work to do when it comes to cleaning the toilet, but there are also many hacks that can make cleaning so much easier. Here are 10 cleaning hacks that make bathroom cleaning a breeze.

1. Use newspapers to clean your bathroom mirrors

Believe it or not, old newspapers are actually very useful in polishing your bathroom mirrors. Spray the mirror with water or any glass cleaner solution, and use some crushed newspapers to scrub the dirt off. Your mirrors will be spotless after this!

2. Clean your shower heads with ease

Don’t know how to clean your shower heads or all other faucets in your house? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Just tie a plastic bag with diluted white vinegar around any faucet or shower head, leave it overnight, and voila! It’s as good as new again.

3. Just three ingredients to unclog your sink

Our sinks or drains are often clogged with hair, soap or dirt. An effective way to solve this problem is to mix ½  cup of baking soda and salt each, and pour it down the drain. After 15 minutes, pour down some boiling water as well. The combination of these ingredients can help unclog tough sink clogs.

4. A quick bathtub cleaner cum air freshener

Grab half a grapefruit and cover the surface with salt. Rub the grapefruit around the stains on your bathtub and squeeze it to give your bathroom a refreshing scent at the same time!

5. Get rid of mildew growing on your curtains

Use a vinegar and baking soda solution to save your curtains from mildews. Pour 1 part water, 1 part baking soda and 2 parts vinegar into a bucket. Place the curtain in the bucket (while it’s still hanging) and let it soak for 30 minutes. After that, rub the curtain against itself to get it clean. Then, rinse it with water and let it dry.

6. Best ingredient to clean your dirty grout

Whitening toothpaste works wonders with dirty grouts. All you need to do is to apply some toothpaste on the dirty grout and let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour. After that, lightly scrub it and rinse the toothpaste off.

7. Let your taps shine

Your taps may be looking old and dull due to water spots or stains. Rub them with half a lemon followed by a rinse and your taps will be shining clean after that.

8. Get rid of nasty mould in your bath toys

Always squeeze out any water in the toys after every bath to prevent mould from growing on them. To remove mould, mix around 4 litres of water with a tablespoon of bleach in a bucket, and soak the bath toys in the mixture for 10 minutes. Rinse them with water and let them dry.

9. Keep your trash fresh

No one wants a smelly dustbin in their toilets. After removing the trash from your dustbin, sprinkle a little bit of baking soda in the bottom of your dustbin to eliminate odours.

Let your hot shower run for a couple of minutes before you begin cleaning your bathroom. Most cleaning products work better at higher temperatures, so do take note of this tip!
